Mettler-Toledo to showcase SmartChek x-ray system

4th November 2008

Mettler-Toledo Safeline is to showcase its SmartChek x-ray inspection technology at an expo this month.

People in science sales jobs may be interested in the company’s stand ay the Pack Expo in Chicago on November 9th to 13th.

The SmartCheck uses low energy x-ray technology to detect and reject contaminants in small packaged products – including glass, metal, stone and bone – which could potentially damage a brand.

It is not as complicated as many x-ray machines, according to the company, which enables those with minimal training to use it. Its five-inch colour touch-screen interface also reduces start-up time, maintenance and operator costs.

"SmartChek provides excellent detection for a wide variety of non-washdown applications such as powdered foods packaged in aluminium or baked goods in metalised film packaging," Mettler-Toledo claims, adding its design allows easy cleaning and quick disassembly.

The company supplies other products for use in the food industry, including scales, wrapping machines and retail software.
