Millipore launches neurite outgrowth assay

Millipore has launched a new neurite outgrowth assay, the company announced this week.

The kit – the most recent in Millipore’s drug discovery product line – offers a "complete solution for specificity labelling and neuronal cell bodies for high-content imaging", according to the manufacturer.

Millipore suggests that the product may be well suited for screening inducers and inhibiters of neurite outgrowth neurotoxins.

"Its primary antibody is immunofluorescence-based to specifically label neurites and neuronal cell bodies in heterogeneous cell populations," the firm adds.

The kit is designed to work in a number of species including humans, mice and rats, with 24-hour stability at room temperature said by the manufacturer to allow for large-scale operations to be undertaken.

Millipore states that it has a "deep understanding of its customers’ research and manufacturing process needs" and offers tools and services to clients based on that level of knowledge.
