Molnlycke Health Care purchases Rynel
Molnlycke Health Care has completed the purchase of hydrophilic polyurethane foam specialist Rynel in a deal designed to support the group’s wound care product offering.
The medical products company has already enjoyed a productive working relationship with Rynel, which acted as a supplier of materials for the production of foam-based products such as Mepilex, Mepilex Border and Mepilex Ag.
It has now acquired 100 per cent of Rynel’s shares, a move which the company states will allow it to better serve the “growth and innovation” of its wound care product range.
Pierre Guyot, chief executive officer of Molnlycke, described the acquisition of Rynel as an “important strategic milestone” in its continued growth.
He added: “We want to continue the growth and innovation of our advanced wound care business for the benefit of our customers.”
Last month, the group allocated a total of 100,000 euros (87,132 pounds) worth of medical products and equipment in order to support the rescue efforts in earthquake-stricken Haiti.
