Movember health charity seeks new PR agency partner

Men's health charity Movember is in discussion with a number of agencies as it looks for a new PR agency partner.

The organisation, which funds projects targeting prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide prevention by organising sponsored moustache-growing challenges in November, is seeking a new agency to support a forthcoming UK campaign, reports PRWeek.

This comes after Paul Mitcheson, the charity's former head of marketing comms, was promoted to the role of country director for UK and Europe in June, with his previous role being taken over by Helena Jennison.

Mr Mitcheson previously confirmed that his organisation is looking to move beyond solely being defined by its flagship facial hair challenge, and wishes to actively encourage men to take action to improve their health – a goal that will be a key part of the new agency brief.

The Movember Foundation has worked on a project basis with a number of PR agencies for health and consumer activations over the years, including a long-term relationship with Ketchum that will not be affected by these discussions.

Mr Mitcheson said: "We do not employ a retained agency and can confirm we are talking to a number of agencies for a consumer campaign in the UK later this year."
