MSD Animal Health provides donation to CTPH gorilla project

21st December 2011

MSD Animal Health has provided a seasonal donation to support the work of Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) in protecting the world's dwindling gorilla population.

The not-for-profit organisation is being allocated funds via the veterinary medicines company's Season's Greetings Donation scheme, which provides a contribution to a different charitable body each Christmas.

CTPH's work focuses on gorilla conservation via a multi-disciplinary approach, enabling humans, livestock and wild animals to co-exist by working to improve healthcare standards for each group.

It believes that by preventing disease transmission between related species, ecosystems can be created in which humans and animals can harmoniously co-exist.

The organisation has been chosen for MSD Animal Health's annual donation thanks to its commitment to the One Health theme, the leading principle behind World Veterinary Year 2011.

Earlier this month, the company announced the launch of a new campaign to highlight domestic rabbit health issues, coinciding with the introduction of its new vaccine product Nobivac Myxo-RHD.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801246326-ADNFCR
