MSD Animal Health to host emerging diseases symposium at IPVS 2014

30th May 2014

MSD Animal Health has announced its plans for a special symposium on the topic of emerging diseases at a forthcoming international industry congress.

Entitled Emerging Diseases: Learning from the Past to Prepare for the Future, the event will be held at the 23rd International Pig Veterinary Society Congress in Cancun, Mexico on June 10th 2014. It will feature four presentations from academics, industry leaders and company representatives.

It will discuss topics such as recent emerging disease outbreaks, the progress of current research and development efforts, and the challenges of managing these conditions, sharing insights from experienced veterinary professionals.

The aim of the symposium will be to raise awareness of the growing threat posed by diseases such as porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome and porcine epidemic diarrhoea.

Narciso Bento of MSD Animal Health's global swine business said: "We are proud to partner with leading experts to offer this symposium at the 23rd International Pig Veterinary Society Congress, which will provide producers with important information to help them manage and prevent outbreaks."

Earlier this month, the company expanded its swine health range with the European launch of Porceptal, a new product for use in the artificial insemination of sows.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801724687-ADNFCR
