MSLGroup hires new healthcare head for UK and Europe

MSLGroup has announced the appointment of experienced comms professional Avril Lee as its new healthcare head for the UK and Europe.

Ms Lee will become managing director of the agency's health practices for the UK and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions in early December, with a remit to lead and build up the businesses.

As a former director at Luther Pendragon and chief executive officer of Ketchum UK, she can boast more than 20 years of relevant industry experience, having worked with healthcare clients such as AbbVie, Bayer and Roche.

In her new role, she will work closely with James Warren, MSLGroup's head of digital for the UK and EMEA, with the aim of further strengthening its digital and health communications.

James Parsons, UK chief executive officer of MSLGroup, said: "Her solid, strategic background in health marks a strategic move to support rapid growth of the team and signals that MSLGroup is serious about investing in the health sector both in the UK and EMEA."

The firm employs a 200-strong team and serves clients including GlaxoSmithKline, EY, BT, Sainsbury's, Netflix and Canon.
