Nalco places in Newsweek’s top 100 green companies list
Nalco has featured in daily national news provider Newsweek’s 2009 list of the top 100 most environmentally-friendly companies.
The firm was ranked 8th out of 47 companies listed in its industry category, was in the top 20 per cent of the 500 largest organisations and came 92nd overall in the chart, which was published in the magazine’s issue of September 28th.
Newsweek performed the evaluation alongside organisations such as KLD Research and Analytics, Trucost and Corporateregister.com and considered three major areas – environmental performance, policies and reputation.
Chairman of Nalco Erik Fyrwald said: "Our mission is to help our customers save water and energy, enhance production and improve air quality all while helping them reduce their total cost of operations."
This news follows Nalco’s appearance in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2009 for the second consecutive year, as it was recognised for its 3D TRASAR(r) cooling technology, which it says helped to save almost 63 billion gallons of water last year.
