Nestle plans baby food launch

29th October 2008

Nestle is preparing for the introduction of a new baby food range in Europe, it has been reported.

The NaturNes range comprises "100 per cent natural" products packaged in plastic bowls with replaceable covers, according to Brand Republic.

In addition to a patented steam-cooking method, those in science sales jobs may also be interested in the environmentally-friendly approach to packaging, as Nestle states plastic containers require less energy to manufacture than glass.

The launch was described as the "biggest innovation [in baby food] since the move from tins to glasses 50 years ago" in the news article.

While already available in Spain and France, NatureNes will be introduced to other European markets including the UK over the next year.

Nestle supplies a range of brands, such as Pure Life water – launched in the UK last month and claimed to be the world’s biggest-selling water brand – Purina pet food and Nescafe.
