Nestle reports organic growth in first nine months of 2017

24th October 2017

Nestle has announced its financial results for the first three quarters of 2017, reporting a nine-month sales total of 65.27 billion Swiss francs (50.23 billion pounds).

This represents a slight year-on-year dip of 0.4 percent as reported, but a 2.6 percent rise in organic terms, comprising a 1.8 percent increase attributed to real internal growth and a 0.8 percent pricing uptick.

Industry-leading volume growth was observed during the quarter, with the western European region returning to positive organic growth, with significant contributions from Nestle's coffee and confectionery businesses.

Organic growth for the full year is now expected to be around the level of the nine-month period, while underlying trading operating profit margins are set to improve by at least 20 basis points in constant currency terms.

Mark Schneider, Nestle's chief executive officer, said: "Our sales results for the nine-month period are in line with our expectations communicated in July."
