New HIV Prevention, Treatment and Cure Research from Gilead to be presented at IAS 2019
Gilead Sciences will be presenting new data on HIV research and development programmes at the 10th International AIDS Society Conference in Mexico this week. The conference will consist of fifteen abstracts alongside workshops showcasing Gilead’s commitment to scientific innovation.
John McHutchison, AO, MD, Chief Scientific Officer, Head of Research & Development, Gilead Sciences said “The scientific discoveries made at Hildea has helped transform both the prevention and treatment of HIV. The data at this year’s meeting will share the exciting progress in HIV Prevention, treatment and cure programmes and shows our commitment to advancing the next generation of therapies and improve the care of people and the communities that are impacted by the disease.”
Data from Gilead’s Programme will be presented it to late breaking presentations; The first presentation will share results from the DISCOVER trail evaluating Descovy, which was approved as a treatment for HIV infection in 2016.The second will include the latest findings on the role of GS-6207, an investigation HIV-1 Capso Inhibitor. Gilead will also set up discussions about the barriers on HIV care at individual, Community and systemic level which will offer them valuable insight to assist In the company’s ongoing efforts to providing practical solutions and ongoing support towards better care for those living with or at risk of HIV.
