New medical device for osteoarthritic knee pain
OrthogenRx has launched TriVisc (sodium hyaluronate) in the US to treat patients with osteoarthritic knee pain. TriVisc is a solution of purified hyaluronic acid, produced through biofermentation, and the formulation has been approved in over 63 countries outside the US under the Adant and related brands, and is supplied by Meiji Seika Pharma Group and partners. Healthcare professionals can administer TriVisc in three injections in the knee at weekly intervals, and the treatment can be repeated if the pain returns. It has however demonstrated the ability to provide patients with months of pain relief.
Founder, co-president and co-chief executive officer of OrthogenRx, Dr Michael Daley, said: “This approval allows OrthogenRx to stay the course in continuing to provide fair and consistent pricing of our products to healthcare professionals and patients. It is our continuing mission to provide safe and efficacious treatment options to our patients for the treatment of osteoarthritis knee pain.”
