NHS dentistry review is proving useful, it is claimed

The NHS dentistry review is providing an insight into what is important for patients and oral-medical professionals, it has been claimed.

Professor Jimmy Steele, chair of the team conducting the investigation, made this comment after it was announced dentists across the country are being asked to share their views on how to advance facilities this spring.

Over the coming months, events will be held in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Bristol where medical professionals have been invited to join patient representatives and NHS commissioners to discuss the topic.

Professor Steele encouraged people to come to the meetings to have an input into making recommendations to enhance services.

“I want to continue to listen to the views of dentists and their teams, patients and NHS staff and to take their advice on improving access, promoting prevention and ensuring NHS dentistry of the highest quality,” he commented.

This month, health disparity became an important issue for councils in the south-east.

Plans have been put forward to tackle a number of problems in the area including reducing alcohol-related incidents and helping people to quit smoking.
