NHS Scotland Agenda for Change staff have been offered a 4% payrise by the Scottish government

NHS Scotland Agenda for Change staff have been offered a four per cent pay rise by the Scottish government to recognise their unprecedented efforts during the pandemic.

This will represent the most significant single-year increase in pay for NHS staff since devolution if the offer is accepted.

Those who earned less than £25,000 in 2020-2021 will receive a minimum increase of more than £1,000 in 2021-2022. Thus, the staff on the lowest agenda will receive a five-point-four per cent increase.

The Scottish health secretary, Jeane Freeman, stated: “[Over]154,000 staff would benefit from this rise. This has been an exceptionally challenging year for our health service and I am pleased that the Scottish government is able to recognise the service and dedication of our healthcare staff.”
