Nikon releases its 2009 CSR report

16th September 2009

Nikon has released its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) report for this year.

The Nikon CSR report 2009 covers the company’s activities from April 2008 to March 2009 and is the fourth such paper it has released, having introduced the initiative in 2006.

Details included in the report are Nikon’s ongoing efforts to maintain fair corporate practices, contribute to the "healthy development of society" and its aim to "completely fulfil the trust of our customers", as well as communities.

The 2009 edition also features details of its Global Warming Prevention Project, including the measures Nikon’s service, production and product departments take to reduce overall the company’s CO2 output.

"It is our intention to strengthen communications with our stakeholders through this report, striving to fully achieve our CSR commitments," the organisation stated.

In other Nikon developments, the company released its COOLPIX range in early August, which included the COOLPIX S1000PJ – the first camera in the world to include an integrated projector.
