No change to the lack of access to NHS dentists in Wales

The welsh health board are being urged to act by Anglesey’s Assembly Member Rhun ap lorwerth on the lack of access to regular dental care.
‘This is a serious problem with real implications for the dental health across the region” Commented Rhun.
Research conducted by the British Dental Association showed only one in six NHS dental practices were accepting adult patients, with only 15.%% of the 355 practices being able to offer appointments, which is a cause for concern.
Plaid Cymru AM, Dr Dai Lloyd, said. “The figures show that the current arrangements are not working as people are not receiving the services they need. A review of dentistry in Wales was undertaken by the Health Social Care and Sport Committee and we’re clear that changes need to be made to improve matters. A number of recommendations have been made to the Welsh government so we’re now awaiting a response on these.”
