NOAH publishes Manifesto for Animal Health in time for the UK’s general election
The National Office for Animal Health (NOAH) has published its ‘Manifesto for Animal Health’ in advance to the upcoming UK general election. NOAH’s document highlights the significance of the UK’s animal health industry and pleads MP’s to pledge their support for the protection of farm and pet animals health and wealth fare, by supporting positive societal and health well being, acknowledging the important role of animal health services and products and supporting the sustainable expansion of the UK’s farming and food industry.
NOAH’s Chief Executive, Dawn Howard, stated: “NOAH’s vision is to be at the forefront of UK animal health and welfare. Our medicines protect the health and welfare of all animals: pets in our homes; livestock or fish on UK farms. All have a right to be treated with appropriate medicines to protect their health and welfare, to prevent disease and reduce suffering, and to ensure they can continue to provide companionship or to produce the safe, nutritious food that the UK public expects. Our industry underpins so much that is valued in British society. In everything we and our members do at NOAH, we aim to improve the lives of animals through encouraging responsible farming and pet ownership and promoting the safe and responsible use of medicines.”
