Nobel Biocare appoints Michel Orsinger as chairman
Nobel Biocare has announced that Michel Orsinger will be taking over as chairman of the company's board next year.
Mr Orsinger will be proposed for election to the role at the firm's annual general meeting in March 2012, allowing him to fulfil his current commitments as president and chief executive officer of medical technology company Synthes.
He has been selected as the successor to the outgoing Heino von Prondzynski, who has submitted his resignation from the post.
Both Mr von Prondzynski and Nobel Biocare chief executive officer Richard Laube have welcomed the choice of Mr Orsinger, citing his extensive experience in the healthcare and medical technology fields.
"Together with Richard Laube, we will further intensify our efforts on innovation, customers and employees," Mr Orsinger said.
Mr Laube was himself appointed to his current leadership role only recently, joining the company from Nestle to succeed the now departed Domenico Scala in May 2011.
