Norbrook Laboratories launches new Cefimam DC intramammary ointment

Norbrook Laboratories has announced the launch of Cefimam DC intramammary ointment, a new dry cow preparation for the prevention of mastitis.

It offers broad-spectrum activity and high cellular penetration to help tackle hard-to-manage cases, with the launch coming shortly after the introduction of the Cefimam LC preparation. Both products contain the active ingredient cefquinome.

As with the previous preparation, only a small number of applications are required, meaning issues can be resolved quickly and affected animals can return rapidly to production.

To accompany this, Norbrook has also released a Polish-language version of its popular Best Practice Guide for On-Farm Mastitis Control, in response to demand from producers with non-English-speaking farmhands.

Norbrook vet Chris Geddes said: "Good mastitis management starts with good education; giving everyone on the farm the same opportunity for learning the best techniques for prevention means that we help minimise incidences of mastitis."

This brings the total number of lactating cow, dry cow and sealant mastitis products in the Norbrook range to 11.
