Norbrook launches new Cefquinome preparation for mastitis control

Norbrook Laboratories has announced the launch of its new Cefimam LC intramammary ointment, a cefquinome-based treatment for mastitis.

The new product incorporates a powerful antimicrobial component to the formulation, enabling high penetration in more difficult mastitis cases. Since only three applications are required, issues can be resolved quickly, meaning a rapid return of affected animals to production.

Moreover, the company has worked with dairy vets to produce a range of best practice materials for farming clients, with more educational tools in development. A Best Practice Guide for On-Farm Mastitis Control is available now.

This is the latest addition to the firm's portfolio of effective and affordable mastitis preparations. More products for this purpose are currently being researched.

Norbrook's large animal vet adviser Stephanie Small said: "With such a broad range of treatments to choose from, vets are able to choose the product which best fits the situation."

The firm is based in Northern Ireland and has formulated and registered more than 800 products in 120 countries.
