Norbrook launches new otitis therapy Marbodex Aural
Norbrook Laboratories has expanded its range of otitis management products for dogs with the launch of Marbodex Aural.
This new therapy features a triple combination of powerful ingredients. The use of marbofloxacin makes it suitable for cases of otitis externa that are suppurative and expected to respond poorly to other classes of antibiotic.
Other key ingredients include clotrimazole, a powerful, broad spectrum antifungal that is especially effective against otitis caused by Malassezia pachydermatis, and the fast-acting steroid dexamethasone.
Marbodex Aural is applied once a day and features two soft atraumatic nozzles to reduce pain on application and prevent cross-contamination during treatment. Extended treatment periods of seven to 14 days can also be employed in the case of persistent infections.
Norbrook said the product will play a key role in "improving pet comfort whilst effectively dealing with key bacterial and fungal infections, giving vets and nurses peace of mind".
The company's other otitis management offerings include Norbrook Cleanor, an alcohol-free ear cleaner, as well as systemic antibiotics such as Noroclav and Mycinor, and the systemic pain relief aids Loxicom and Carprieve.
