Novo Branches out into Kidney disease with Epigen Biosciences

Novo Nordisk have unveiled a new alliance with Epigen Biosciences for a novel compound to treat diabetic and chronic kidney disease.
Keeping with the company’s focused approach, the deal is adjacent to its core diabetes treatment franchise.
Novo has licensed the Epigen’s LPA1 receptor antagonist EPGN696 for development in diabetic and chronic kidney disease and other chronic diseases associated with metabolic syndrome. $200m,will be given to Epigen in up front and milestone payments.
