Novo Nordisk and IBM to develop cloud-based diabetes solutions
Novo Nordisk is to collaborate with IBM on the development of new cloud-based diabetes solutions.
The new innovations will be built on the Watson Health Cloud and will explore possibilities for improved diabetes care via insights from real-time, real-world evidence of Novo Nordisk diabetes treatments and devices.
This work will leverage Novo Nordisk's understanding of diabetes and IBM's leadership in cognitive computing, specifically its work on developing IBM Watson, the first commercially available cognitive computing platform.
Capable of processing large amounts of big data to uncover patterns and insights, IBM Watson can understand complex questions posed in natural language, propose evidence-based answers, and learn from interactions.
Jakob Riis, executive vice-president at Novo Nordisk, said: "Working with ambitious partners like IBM Watson Health helps us explore the opportunities presented by an increasingly digitalised healthcare system."
Novo Nordisk employs approximately 40,300 people in 75 countries and has been developing diabetes treatments and solutions for more than 90 years.
We have hundreds of jobs available across the Healthcare industry, find your perfect one now.
