Denmark based Novo Nordisk puts forward funds of €2.1 bn towards a manufacturing location in France to cope with the increasing demand for their weight-loss treatment.
The investment aims to expand the Chartres facility and generate 500 job opportunities before 2029, highlighting President Macron’s efforts to rejuvenate France’s industrial strength.
The Danish Pharma company is valued at an estimated $460 bn and is widely known for its weight-loss treatments, one example being Wegovy.
Goldman Sachs forecasts that the market for weight-loss treatments could reach $100 billion by 2030. Novo Nordisk, in conjunction with competitor Eli Lilly, is strategically positioned as a leading player in this rapidly expanding industry.
Director of Novo Nordisk Production Chartres commented, “This significant investment announced today confirms the importance of our French manufacturing site, one of our strategic production sites, as a cornerstone of the growth we are experiencing as a company,”
