Novo Nordisk supports new workplace wellness initiative
Novo Nordisk has announced its support of a new scheme designed to improve the health and productivity of company workers.
The firm, in association with a consortium of organisations including Nestle, Unilever and Johnson and Johnson, has helped to launch the Workplace Wellness Alliance at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Currently, the alliance is made up of 24 member companies, with a pilot scheme showing that the workers of these firms are healthier than average due to wellness programmes offered by employers.
Lars Rebien Sorensen, chief executive officer at Novo Nordisk, cited the positive example of its own NovoHealth scheme, which encourages healthy eating, physical activity and smoke-free conditions.
"At Novo Nordisk we strive to create a culture which promotes and supports healthy living for all employees," he said.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Novo Nordisk's NovoTwist needle for insulin delivery pens has won a Good Design award based on its life-enriching qualities.
