Nutricia to promote nutritional issues with Carers UK

Nutricia has announced a new alliance with campaigning charity group Carers UK that will aim to highlight the importance of nutritional issues among the sick and elderly.

The partnership will focus on providing carers across Britain with resources and information on how to guarantee the nutritional health of both themselves and those under their care.

As part of the alliance, the two organisations will also be seeking to raise awareness of these issues among policymakers and the general public.

Roger Phillips, regional vice-president of Nutricia, said this initiative is important given that one in eight adults in the UK is now providing unpaid care.

"We are confident that the combined efforts of Carers UK and the Nutricia teams can make some advances towards a change, both in attitudes, care and policy," he said.

Earlier this year, the company moved to streamline its UK distribution network by selecting AAH Pharmaceuticals, Alliance Healthcare, Phoenix Healthcare and Mawdsley as its exclusive partners.
