Randox has introduced a series of diabetes tests aimed at promoting early diagnosis as a key to controlling the disease.

The complete range of diabetes tests includes glucose, fructosamine and HbA1c checks in addition to tests for complications in diabetes: total protein, albumin, microalbumin, creatinine, ketones and non-esterified fatty acids.

According to the company, these tests "ensure comprehensive patient assessment" and enable "proper treatment" of the condition.

It added that diabetes can be a "real burden" on the healthcare system, with 2.3 million people being registered with the illness in the UK alone last year.

"Screening tests and regular check-ups are necessary to keep abreast of the rising incidence and the chronic progression of the disease," Randox continued.

Meanwhile, in more news from Randox, the international diagnostic company has introduced its RX Monza semi-automated clinical analyser.

Described by the company as straightforward, consistent, reliable and durable, the RX Monza can be utilised for low-volume testing in laboratories.

It features an integral screen, keyboard and printer.
