Ogilvy PR wins tech prize at 2012 PRCA Awards
Ogilvy PR has claimed an accolade for a successful technology communications campaign at the annual PRCA Awards, which took place in London earlier this month.
The company, in association with OgilvyOne, were presented with the night's technology award for The Gnome Experiment, a large-scale campaign carried out on behalf of precision scales and force gauge manufacturer Kern and Sohn.
It involved shipping a garden gnome to different parts of the world and weighing it to assess the variable effects of gravity across the globe, proving enough of a success to also claim the business-to-business and campaign of the year awards.
In total, the company claimed five gongs on the night, rounding off a successful year in which The Gnome Experiment also claimed silver and bronze awards at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.
Francis Ingham, director general of the PRCA, said the success of the awards is "a testament to our industry's remarkable ability to bring the most creative, innovative and progressive people and ideas together".
