Olympus launches new confluency checker software

4th May 2016

Olympus has announced the launch of its new CKX-CCSW cell confluency checker software, for use with camera-equipped cell culture microscopes.

Designed to help accelerate, standardise and document the cell culture workflow, the software is able to help scientists quantify exact growth density levels without having to remove cells from the vessel.

This helps scientists to quickly decide on their next step and optimise cultivation conditions, avoiding the need for rough visual estimates of confluency in favour of a precise Olympus cell counting algorithm.

Measurement records can be saved and exported as a CSV file for further analysis or archiving, or easily paired with associated cell culture images for comprehensive recording. Meanwhile its intuitive interface allows accurate, reproducible data to be generated with minimal training.

The software is optimised for use with the Olympus CKX53 cell culture microscope and Cell Counter Model R1.

Wolfgang Hempell, head of core life science at Olympus, said: "The expansion of stem cell research has sparked a demand for technologies that enable both standardisation and accurate documentation, while also increasing speed and reducing workload."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801817841-ADNFCR
