Olympus launches new dedicated MPE objective lenses
Olympus has announced the launch of a pair of new dedicated multiphoton excitation (MPE) objectives for deep imaging applications.
The XLPLN10XSVMP and XLSLPLN25XGMP objective lenses offer an eight millimetre working distance and support for a large range of refractive indices, enabling super-deep imaging of tissues treated with the latest clearing agents, as well as live-cell imaging and light sheet microscopy techniques.
They have been designed to vastly accelerate data collection from live-cell and clarified samples with high-resolution imaging, offering compatibility with the industry-leading FVMPE-RS and FV1200MPE multiphoton microscopy systems, as well as being easily adaptable to home-build light sheet microscopes.
Olympus said: "The objectives enable the interrogation of large intact samples (such as whole-brain high-resolution imaging) and structural and molecular analysis of large assembled biological systems."
The company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of optical and digital equipment for the healthcare and consumer electronics sectors. Earlier this month, it attended the International Microscopy Congress in Prague, where it showcased its latest innovations, including the LEXT OLS4100 3D laser scanning industrial microscope and DSX500 industrial inspection microscope.
