Online medicines up to 64% cheaper than buying at the vets

24th May 2018

Pet owners are paying over the odds for their pets’ medications by purchasing directly from their vet according to research conducted from Direct Line Pet insurance.
With more than half of pet owners being unaware that that vets can write prescriptions just like a GP, Direct Line Pet Insurance and Pet Drugs online have partnered with Pet Drugs online, offering owners the opportunity to shop around and seek prescribed medication at a cheaper rate
Both companies commented, “While some vets charge a nominal prescription fee, pet owners that shop around for the best price on medication, rather than automatically purchasing from their veterinary surgery, can make significant savings even when paying the prescription fee to the vet…. The service can supply medication for dogs, cats, horses, birds and other small pets, such as rabbits and guinea pigs. As well as being a pet dispensary, Pet Drugs Online is qualified to offer extra support and advice to owners who fear their pet is unwell.”
