Oral B issues advice for use of products
Oral-B has issued advice to parents and their children on the use of the company’s dental products.
Recommending the utilisation of the organisation’s Stages Baby Tooth and Gum Cleanser after breast or bottle feedings, the firm highlights its Stage 1 product features a large brush head that will cover surfaces within the mouth, along with massaging the gums.
The group adds fluorided toothpaste and its Stage 3 toothbrush will brush the permanent molars that children aged five to seven will have, along with cup-shaped bristles to surround each tooth.
Dr Laura Jana, author and founder of Practical Parenting Consulting, said: “Oral health is a commonly overlooked aspect of children’s health.”
She added many parents are unaware neglect of the mouth can have a “considerable impact” on development of young people, including speech, learning, nutrition and self-esteem.
Alongside Oral-B, Procter and Gamble’s brands include Charmin, Pampers and Head and Shoulders.
