Oral Health Foundation survey reveals new enamel erosion results
A recent survey of 2,000 members of the public was conducted by the Oral Health Foundation and Unilever for National Smile Month to provide dental professionals with a pathway for speaking to their patients about enamel erosion. They want to promote Regenerate Professional Advanced Enamel Serum and Toothpaste, a new tool they have to help fight against erosion.
The survey revealed a lack of understanding about the risks of enamel erosion. The facts are that drinking sports drinks, acid reflux, snacking throughout the day, bulimia, and drinking sparkling mineral water can damage teeth, but only 22% of those surveyed were aware of this. Only 37% could list tooth sensitivity, tooth thinning, tooth yellowing, tooth cracking, or tooth transparency as signs of dental erosion that could affect their teeth.
Regenerate Professional Advanced Enamel Serum and Toothpaste can kick start a preventative regime. It contains two powerful ingredients, calcium silicate and sodium phosphate salts, which combine to form a fresh supply of enamel minerals, wrapping and integrating onto the teeth (Sun Y et al, 2014).
