OralDent launches Citroxx Bio

OralDent has launched Citroxx Bio as an “alcohol-free answer to infection control”, it has announced.

The UK-based company discussed how there is a real threat of a number of viruses including the MRSA superbug, Clostridium Difficile and Streptococcus.

Many of the products designed to wipe surfaces clean to help protect medical professionals and patients against theses conditions contain alcohol, which does not destroy spores, evaporates quickly and car cause skin irritation, according to the dental firm.

Now there are several different forms of Citroxx Bio available, including a hand gel, waste cleaner, surface wipes and disinfectant liquid.

“This range of options means that not only do clinicians get an ideal hand-washing product that is alcohol-free and kind to skin, they also have a range of products to suit their needs,” OralDent commented.

It concluded the products were effective against the viruses because the active ingredient is a powerful non-toxic biocide, which has been extracted from orange pith.

Towards the end of last year, the oral care product specialist began distribution of Periostat – a prescription tablet designed to treat chronic periodontitis.
