Orion announces dividend at AGM

Orion Corporation has announced a dividend payment at its annual general meeting (AGM) held earlier this week.

The company confirmed a dividend of one euro (0.78 pounds) per share for 2007, with this sum to be paid on April 4th 2008.

Furthermore, the company also announced decisions regarding the acquiring and conveying of the company’s own shares by its board of directors, in addition to the election and remuneration of these directors and auditors.

Matti Kavetvuo was re-elected as chairman of the board, while.Eero Karvonen, Matti Kavetvuo, Leena Palotie, Vesa Puttonen, Hannu Syrjanen and Jukka Ylppo were re-elected as members.

Directors will be paid 36,000 euros as an annual fee, in addition to 600 euros for each meeting attended, with the vice-chairman receiving for 49,000 and 900 euros.

The chairman will receive an annual fee of 72,000 euros and 1,200 euros for attending each meeting.

“PricewaterhouseCoopers, [an] authorised public accountant firm, was elected as auditor for the next term,” Orion said.

“Kati Malmivuori, [an] authorised public accountant, was elected as deputy auditor,” it added.

The company confirmed that the remuneration of auditors will be based on invoicing.

In September 2007, Orion announced the retirement of president and chief executive officer Jukka Viinanen and the appointment of Timo Lappalainen, which took effect at the start of this year.
