Ovarian Cancer Action appoints new press lead
Ovarian Cancer Action has announced the appointment of Jess Champion, the former head of PR at Distilled, as the new head of its press function.
Ms Champion joins the charity as it prepares for Ovarian Cancer Action Month in March and will leverage her media relations and PR expertise to help raise awareness of the disease and the charity's work.
Ovarian Cancer Action's aim is to ensure all women in the UK have access to the best treatment. It will benefit from Ms Champion's experience, honed during her time with Distilled, which she originally joined as a consultant in 2013.
Katherine Taylor, acting chief executive at Ovarian Cancer Action, said: "With our campaign for all women with non-mucinous ovarian cancer to be BRCA-tested at diagnosis ramping up, and Ovarian Cancer Action Month on its way, Jess joins us at an exciting time."
Ovarian cancer is currently the UK's most deadly gynaecological disease, with more than 7,000 cases diagnosed every year. The charity relies on public donations to fund scientific research leading to innovative treatment and progressive solutions.
