Oxoid QC micro-organisms approved by ATCC

13th November 2007

Oxoid’s Remel quality control micro-organisms have been added to the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) licensed derivative programme.

Introduced for commercial organisations that use ATCC-derived organisms within their products, inclusion in this programme means customers can use Culti-Loops and Quanti-Cult products with confidence as the viability, purity and identification of the micro-organisms have been tested and confirmed by the ATCC.

Such assurance is intended to benefit the global diagnostic and analytical testing market by supporting standards and helping to meet increasingly stringent criteria for quality control (QC) testing within the industry.

"Standards and quality are important considerations for QC and the addition of the Culti-Loops and Quanti-Cult products to the ATCC licensed derivative programme further strengthens the benefits that these market leading brands offer to microbiologists around the world," confirmed Julie Elston, QC organisms product manager at Oxoid.

Culti-Loops are stabilised micro-organisms, while Quanti-Cult and Quanti-Cult Plus are preserved micro-organisms designed to deliver a specific range of colony forming units (CFU).

Both products are intended for use in clinical, food, pharmaceutical, research and industrial applications for QC procedures.ADNFCR-1050-ID-18352832-ADNFCR
