Oxoid to hold infection seminar

Oxoid has announced it is to hold an infection control seminar this month.

The organisation will hold its fifth annual Infection Control Seminar on Tuesday May 13th at the Walton Hall and Hotel in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire.

It added that places for the free event need to be booked in advance due to the popularity of the seminar.

The day’s agenda will include talks by Dr Kevin Towner of Nottingham Queen’s Medical Centre and Dr Mike Cooper of the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust, whose presentation is titled ‘Turning the tide on healthcare associated infection’.

Cardiff University’s Professor Brian Duerden, who is the inspector of microbiology and infection control at the Department of Health, will be discussing reducing HCAI rates in the NHS, and Professor Alasdair MacGowan from North Bristol NHS Trust will present ‘Changing prescribing habits’.

This event is accredited by the Royal College of Nursing, the Institute of Biomedical Scientists and the Royal College of Pathologists.
