Parexel appoints former MHRA professional to expert team

Parexel has appointed former Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) expert Dr Keith Watson to its consulting business unit.

Dr Watson, who worked with biotechnology advisory groups such as the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use during his time at the MHRA, will become a principal consultant for Parexel Consulting, providing expertise to a number of companies.

The company has also announced the appointment of Dr Toby Silverman, formerly of the US Food and Drug Administration, who will act in a similar capacity.

Dr Paul Bridges, vice-president of Parexel Consulting, said it has made the appointment in response to the growing demand for specialised biotechnology advice among its clients.

He added: “We expect Dr Silverman and Dr Watson to provide valuable assistance to our clients’ development programs.”

Earlier this month, Parexel launched a new brand identity based around the slogan “Right Where You Need Us”, as part of a move to bring its services more closely in line with the needs of biopharmaceutical firms.
