Parexel study highlights growing role of adaptive trials
Parexel has published data from a new industry survey which shows the growing role played by adaptive trials in the drug development sector.
Conducted by Parexel's Perceptive Informatics division, the poll of more than 300 global biopharmaceutical industry professionals showed that 80 percent of respondents are considering implementing some type of adaptive design in the next year.
According to the company, it is seeking to support this trend through its eClinical solutions offering, which provides services such as electronic data capture and electronic patient reported outcomes for studies of this kind.
Damian McEntegart, senior director of statistics and product support at Perceptive Informatics, said: "We are focused on helping the industry to successfully implement adaptive trials, which can enable better decision-making about compounds and reduce the time between development phases."
Earlier this month, Perceptive Informatics expanded its range of clinical trial management services through the launch of its new DataLabs 5.0 Electronic Data Capture system.
