Parexel to launch platform for clinical trial management

Parexel is introducing a new technology platform designed to allow pharmaceutical companies to conduct late phase clinical research more efficiently.

The firm’s new web-based solution combines expertise and processes from its Peri Approval Clinical Excellence (PACE) team with eClinical solutions from its Perceptive Informatics subsidiary.

It has also been optimised to offer an intuitive interface, automated cues for clinical requirements and centralised access to data on sites, patients and medical supplies.

Dr Carol Collins, corporate vice-president and worldwide head of PACE at Parexel, said this will allow its clients in the healthcare sector to conduct post-approval studies more efficiently.

She added: “This new technology platform reinforces our commitment to assist clients in generating more robust product safety and heath outcomes profiles.”

According to the firm’s most recent financial report, Parexel experienced a growth in business in 2009, with revenue increasing by 3.2 per cent year-on-year.
