Perkin Elmer LAS announces new diffusion-pump mass spectrometer

25th April 2007

Perkin Elmer LAS, a provider of spectroscopy and chromatography technology to the health sciences and photonics sectors, has announced the release of its latest offering – the Clarus 560 D Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS).

Intended to fulfil the requirements of low-volume laboratories, the GC/MS is intended to be both robust and dependable while offering the diffusion-pump capabilities of one of its high-end products, the Clarus 600 D MS

Eric Ziegler, chromatography business unit manager for the firm, explains: "The Clarus 560 D GC/MS combines two highly effective analytical tools to help our customers with standard applications while being sensitive to customers’ budget requirements.

"[It] offers increased productivity through state-of-the-art electronics, the fastest scanning rates to yield the most accurate data, the widest mass range and the latest in reporting capabilities for easy environmental compliance."

The unit has been designed to occupy minimal bench space without compromising on usability, by including an "intuitive touch-screen interface" and dual channels in order to facilitate other application work.

Recently, Laboratorytalk.com published an announcement from Perkin Elmer LAS that it had produced a number of webcasts discussing the challenges in analysis techniques facing researchers while offering solutions which enable increased precision and pace in testing processes.
