PerkinElmer announces launch of Operetta benchtop system
PerkinElmer has launched a new High Content Screening (HCS) and High Content Analysis (HCA) instrument platform called Operetta.
The benchtop system utilises the life sciences company’s new Harmony software to provide researchers with "easy-to-use building blocks" for producing user-configurable workflows.
Launched at the sixth annual High Content Analysis Conference in San Francisco, the Operetta system contains a range of pre-installed solutions designed for frequently-used image analysis tasks, in addition to a scalable database for image management and data retrieval or analysis.
Commenting on the new system, Richard M Eglen, president of Bio-discovery at the company, said users can now optimise imaging studies for cell science research "easily and rapidly".
"The Operetta platform and Harmony software extend PerkinElmer’s portfolio in cellular imaging and bring the benefits of HCS and HCA to almost any life sciences laboratory," he added.
People in scientific sales jobs may also be interested in the expansion of PerkinElmer’s AlphaScreen range of assay kits, launched last month.
