PerkinElmer announces takeover of Ceiba Solutions

PerkinElmer has agreed a deal to acquire Ceiba Solutions, a move that will significantly strengthen the company's OneSource service for scientific laboratories.

The acquisition of Ceiba will see the sciences and laboratory IT software and services company integrated into the OneSource business, which delivers a complete portfolio of laboratory services to help reduce complexity in laboratories and increase efficiency.

Ceiba's expertise will specifically augment OneSource's lab IT portfolio, which includes lab computing, scientific application, scientific data and computer systems validation services.

PerkinElmer will also be able to expand its offering of lab computing managed services, training and certification, and informatics services following the takeover.

Jon DiVincenzo, president for environmental health at PerkinElmer, said: "Ceiba's solutions, including its managed services, certification and informatics technologies, enhance our OneSource offering with advanced tools and expertise to contribute to accelerating scientific breakthroughs."

Last week, the company expanded its product range with the launch of its new Mantra Quantitative Pathology Workstation, which offers cancer immunology and immunotherapy research capabilities.
