PerkinElmer hails ‘strong financial performance’ in Q1 2015

1st May 2015

PerkinElmer has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2015, during which it delivered a GAAP revenue total of $526.9 million (347.36 million pounds).

This was down slightly on the $530.6 million total from Q1 2014, with the dip attributable to headwinds from the stronger dollar. Its organic revenue growth was three percent, rising to five percent on a constant currency-adjusted basis.

Its human health and environmental health divisions both achieved organic revenue rises compared to last year, while increases in operating income from continuing operations and adjusted earnings per share were achieved.

For the full year 2015, the company now forecasts GAAP earnings per share from continuing operations in the range of $2.06 to $2.12.

Robert Friel, chairman and chief executive officer of PerkinElmer, said: "We continue to be encouraged by the success we are seeing from our growth and productivity investments, giving us confidence in our ability to deliver solid results for the balance of the year."

This comes after the firm was recently named as the company of the year for 2014 by the Instrument Business Outlook newsletter.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801786136-ADNFCR
