PerkinElmer introduces new AxION mass spectrometry platform

13th June 2011

PerkinElmer has announced the launch of a new mass spectrometry platform designed for use in the pharmaceutical and food production industries.

The new AxION system comprises both hardware and software offerings aimed at delivering specific, fast and accurate quantification for monitoring water quality, ensuring its safety and purity.

It includes an AxION 2 Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry instrument, AxION Solo and AxION XPO software for analysing results and the AxION eDoor user interface package.

PerkinElmer states that the overall package provides a combination of power and sensitivity, helping to determine critical contamination levels across a broad range of different sample types.

Dusty Tenney, president of analytical sciences and laboratory services at PerkinElmer, said: "The AxION mass spectrometry platform delivers unambiguous determination of complex molecules across a wide dynamic range so that contaminants and impurities can be readily identified."

This comes after the firm launched its new range of Optima 8×00 inductively-coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800576662-ADNFCR
