PerkinElmer reports strong year-on-year growth for Q2 2016

PerkinElmer has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2016, during which it delivered a performance in line with its prior guidance.

The company achieved a revenue total of $573 million (442.11 million pounds) for the quarter, which was within its guidance range of $570 million to $575 million, and exceeded the 563.9 million total for Q2 2015.

Its human health business generated revenues of $353.5 million for the quarter, up by four percent year over year or six percent in organic terms, which helped to offset the slight decline experienced by its environmental health division.

For the year as a whole, PerkinElmer continues to expect to achieve an earnings per share total from continuing operations in the range of $2.29 to $2.39.

Robert Friel, chairman and chief executive officer of PerkinElmer, said: "We believe these investments, coupled with the strength of our productivity and efficiency initiatives, position us well to deliver solid financial results for the balance of 2016."
