PerkinElmer to launch HCA ImagAmp reagent kit

PerkinElmer has announced the launch of the HCA ImagAmp reagent kit, for use in screening and analysis applications for the life science and pharmaceutical sectors.

The new device is designed for use in high content analysis, also known as image cytometry, a practice that offers unbiased imaging and analysis of cellular samples in areas such as cell differentiation, cell toxicity, programmed cell death and drug discovery.

It provides rapid detection with high-quality imaging capabilities and a wide variety of easy-to-use features, incorporating proprietary Tyramide Signal Amplification technology to improve sensitivity.

Dr Martina Bielefeld-Sevigny, vice-president and general manager for biodiscovery at PerkinElmer, said this new tool will facilitate analysis of proteins of interest that were previously undetectable.

"The sensitivity enhancement provided by HCA ImagAmp technology enables earlier detection of critical cellular events such as apoptosis, speeding disease and therapeutic research," she added.

This comes after the firm announced the launch of its new high-performance 3D cellular imaging software Volocity last week.
