Petplan and Panasonic launch Smart Home Monitoring Kit for pets
Petplan has allied with Panasonic to launch a new system to help pet owners to check on their animals via a smart device application.
The Smart Home Monitoring Kit includes an indoor camera that comes with a built-in temperature sensor and night vision, as well as a door sensor and a Smart Plug that can be remotely activated to turn on a radio, lamp, portable heater or fan.
As well as helping owners to make sure their animals are content while they are out of the house, the kit also allows pet owners to share footage of their animal in the home with a vet to help explain behavioural symptoms.
Additionally, certain veterinary practices are able to use the kit to help provide additional security and monitoring capabilities within their premises.
Isabella von Mesterhazy, head of marketing at Petplan, said: "Spending time away from your pet can be hard, so the new pet Monitoring Kit addresses this problem by providing welcome peace of mind that they are safe and well."
