Pfizer announces new exec appointment

15th January 2009

Pfizer has announced Stephen Sanger has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Effective from February 1st, the 62-year-old’s appointment followed an election.

Previous to his retirement last year, Mr Sanger served as the chairman of General Mills from 1995, having joined the company in 1974.

While at the company, he also served on its board of directors, was named president in 1993 and was chief executive officer from 1995 to 2007.

Mr Sanger has a bachelor’s degree in history from DePauw University, along with an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Last month, Pfizer said Bradley Lerman had joined the company as senior vice-president of litigation.

He will report to the organisation’s senior vice-president and general counsel Amy Schulman, who said: “As a highly accomplished trial lawyer who has represented a variety of companies, he will be a clear asset as we face new and continuing challenges.

“Brad will help Pfizer maintain our strong commitment to integrity and compliance.”
